Configure Cisco router to be a DHCP server using CCP
As I promised in this blog I'm going to configure DHCP server for LAN clients.
First of all connect to you router with CCP, and from "Community Information" list select wich router you want to configure. After you discover device, click on "Configure".
To get to screen where you can see DHCP pools click...
Router => DHCP => DHCP Pools
A you can see I have already configured POOL_1, in this case I will edit my pool to see configurations.
To add new pool just click Add... button

Configure router to use the Cisco Configuration Professional
In this post I will configure router for CCP (Cisco Configuration Professional).
First of all you have to download CCP installation from Cisco http://www.cisco.com/go/ciscocp then install CCP like any windows application. After that configure router to be able to run CCP.
• Enable HTTP and HTTPS
• Configure HTTP for local authentication
• Create local user with privilege level 15
• VTY line with protocol ssh/telnet must be enabled with local authentication.
• And as I recently read in Cisco documentation, an http timeout policy must be configured with the parameters (ip http timeout-policy idle 60 life 86400 requests 10000) to avoid launch issue with Cisco CP.
Router> enable
Router#
Router# config terminal
Router(config)#
Router(config)# username ccpuser privilege 15 secret 0 ccppass
Router(config)# ip http server

HP QuickWeb problem
A few weeks ago I bought a HP ProBook 4530s with i5 and 4 GB of RAM etc.
First what I did is upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Widows 7 Ultimate, using Windows Anytime Upgrade. I have done upgrade without any problems.
After that I installed all applications that I need for learning and practice computer networks.
I didn’t bore with pre-installed applications from HP.
But at some point I wanted to try HP QuickWeb using button for accessing HP QW on laptop.
After I pressed the butten only what I got is frozen screen with HP QuickWeb logo, and nothing more. So I try to read about it in HP documentation and only what I got found is ...
"To start HP QuickWeb, press the QuickWeb button when the computer is off or in Hibernation.
The following table explains the different behaviors of the QuickWeb button."
So I read on the Internet that first must be enabled in bios, so I did that, I all so try whit new installation. And again only what I got is frozen screen.
Then I noticed that there was separated partition for HP QuickWeb installation and the type for that partition was "Logical". As you now, or maybe not, Quick Web is nothing more than small Linux OS and the partition type must by "Primary".
As you can see I used EASEUS Partition Master application to change the type for HP_TOOSL partition.
After that HP QuickWeb worked! And I can tell you that it is useful tool.
